At Jesselton Medical Centre (JMC) we pride ourselves in providing excellent health care. In tune with this objective, our cardiology unit is now equipped to perform a wide range of Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Laboratory (NICL) and Invasive Cardiovascular Laboratory (ICL) procedures.
The Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Laboratory (NCL) at JMC is a facility for cardiovascular diagnostic procedures. The procedures are non-invasive or minimally invasive, conducted on patients known or suspected of having cardiac disorders.
The Invasive Cardiovascular Laboratory (ICL), also known as catheterisation lab or cath lab, is a facility for invasive procedures, carried out to provide in-depth diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for cardiovascular disease.
At JMC, we use the latest Canon angiography machine in Malaysia, Canon Alphenix INFX-8000V, to perform a comprehensive list of ICL procedures for investigating and treating patients with disease of the heart vessels and abnormally slow heart rate.
We have the newest facility in Sabah to perform coronary angiogram procedure combined with blood flow assessment and interventional coronary procedures. The cath lab’s versatility to function as a single-plane and a bi-plane facility gives options to patients to choose between these two systems. The bi-plane feature, which is the first one for private cath lab in Sabah, enables faster image acquisition and uses lower contrast dye than a single-plane lab. Installed with the latest imaging technology, it allows doctors to see fine details with clarity and perform procedures with precision, cutting down procedure time and radiation exposure.
